How I practice French in everyday life
I read the main Quebec newspapers, I watch “Tout le monde en parle”, I speak French with the family members on my mother’s side, and when I visit my parents’ house in a small town in southern France.

Why I think bilingualism is important
It allows for a greater understanding of Canada’s history, culture, and politics.  It provides a window into other societies abroad.  It offers the chance for professional advancement.

Favourite authors
For non-fiction: Michael Lewis and Malcolm Gladwell; for fiction: Jose Saramago, Albert Camus, J.M. Coetzee.

Favourite food
Classic French bistro fare.

How Brian arrived at French for the Future
Born in Québec, Brian moved to Ottawa when he was still young and studied in French throughout elementary school.  Subsequently, he lived in Paris for three years, where he was fully immersed in the country which he still visits at every opportunity.  After having graduated from McGill University, he worked at a bilingual think tank in downtown Montreal and continued to explore one of Canada’s truly special cities.  Eager to undertake new challenges, he moved to Toronto and is delighted to have the opportunity to continue speaking French at work on a daily basis.
