Who we are

French for the Future is a not-for-profit organization that supports and motivates high school students on their path towards bilingualism.

French for the Future’s four main programs are:

1) Local Annual Forums: One-day annual events take place in cities all across Canada. High school students participate in exciting workshops and activities… en français!

2) National Ambassador Youth Forum: Bilingual high school students from across Canada gather in a different city each year for four jam-packed days of activities. They leave the Forum as ambassadors of bilingualism, empowered to live and learn in French and motivate their peers to do the same.

3) National Essay Contest: Every year, French for the Future partners up with the University of Ottawa to offer amazing scholarships to students studying French.

4) Franconnexion Sessions: Organized by and for the members of a school or community, the principal idea of the Franconnexion Sessions is to help students, parents and teachers participate in the promotion of French in their region, through an educational event. French for the Future provides the foundation for this event (an example schedule, door prizes, video presentations, and more).
