Strong Women. Strong Canada. Strong World.
Published by French for the Future on 08 March 2010

March 8th is Internation Women's Day.
This year, the theme in Canada is: Strong Women. Strong Canada. Strong World.
A beautiful tradition, probably started in Italy in the 1940s, is to offer a sprig of mimosa flowers to the women in your life as a sign of respect and solidarity. While we would love to send you flowers, cyberspace isn't quite advanced enough for that yet. So we thought we'd we'd offer a few interesting websites for you to check out. Happy surfing!
Everything you need to know about International Women's Day is on the Status of Women Canada website.
To learn about amazing women in Canadian history, check out this great Park's Canada page.
On the Collections Canada website, there is a whole section called "Celebrating Women's Achievements..." and has information on notable women in Film, Theatre and Dance, Arts, Sport, Activism, Science, Government, Librarianship, Society, Music, Literature, and Book trade.
