Happy New Year!

It’s that time again… time for resolutions!  Have you made any?

Here are a few suggestions that could help you make 2010 a successful year in French!

1.     Surf the Web in French
Many sites are bilingual.  And if you get stuck, all you have to do is click “English” to check words you don’t understand.  Click “français” in the upper right corner of your screen right now:)

2.    Use Francophone services
Governmental services are bilingual- take advantage of them! www.bonjour-hello.ca

3.    Say “bonjour” to at least one person each day.
Who knows?  You may be speaking to another bilingual person!

4.    Use Facebook in French
They even have a French Canada option!  Update your status in French to really impress your friends.

5.    Watch or listen to the news in French.
Radio-Canada is available in most communities and everywhere on the web.

6.    Watch DVDs with French subtitles
And why not watch French movies too?

7.    Learn to text in French
Can you figure this one out?  bjr. je vé o 6né auj. a2m1!

8.    Organize a trip to a Francophone community with your friends or family
Quebec, St. Boniface, Hearst, Lac Labiche… here we come!  And why not sing a few bars of Charles Trenet in the car?

9.    Discover at least one amazing Francophone artist
A few suggestions to start you off: Cœur de Pirate, Dumas, Soir de Semaine, Leoffenders, Anique Granger, Ya Ketchose...

10.    Answer French for the Future’s weekly quiz questions and participate in the contests!
Learn something, use your French and win prizes… what could be better?
