Ronan MacParland

A passionate advocate for youth leadership amongst all Canadians, Ronan MacParland has been actively engaged in youth engagement initiatives for much of his life. He believes that youth programs like French for the Future give youth the power to participate in the future prosperity and shared identity of this country.

To that end he has ventured, through leadership in programs like the Canadian Roots Exchange and Students for International Development, to further youth engagement in cross cultural dialogue and Canada's international responsibility towards those less for fortunate.

Ronan was recognized by Youth in Motion with the prize Canada's Top 20 Under 20 (2007) for his leadership with Students for International Development, and the Gordon Cressy Leadership Award (2010) for his work with cross-cultural dialogue between Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal people in Canada.

From St. John's, Newfoundland, he has studied International Relations at the University of Toronto, and has taken language courses abroad. Ronan has been recognized as a University of Toronto National Scholar, the University of Toronto Book Award, and is a Millennium Laureate.

Ronan is proud to be involved in the continued success of French for the Future. Long live a bilingual Canada!
