Winnipeg

The Winnipeg Local Forum took place on Tuesday, April 27th, 2010.  Our forum invited students in grades 11 and 12 in French immersion and in schools from the Franco-Manitoban school division to participate in this event.

Our forum took place at Collège universitaire de Saint-Boniface, in the heart of Francophone Manitoba.  For many years, the Winnipeg Forum had offered a dynamic and interactive program.

We wanted students to discover professional opportunities in French as well as groups that can help them continue on their path in French.

In addition, we offered them:
•    Careers that offer travel opportunities to bilingual people (journalism, the RCMP)
•    Careers that uncover their artistic talents (painting, mosaic-making, djembe drumming)
•    The opportunity to discover hidden interests within them (photography, yoga, magic)

We also had a plennary session with young Francophone Manitobans: Marie-Anne Beaudette-Dallaire, who participated as a ‘voyageur’ in the production of the documentary “Destination Nord Ouest” shown on TFO and Daniel ROA, winner of a Western Canadian Music Award, who got participants up and dancing with his songs.
