February 2011's Featured Student is
Hayam Hamodat!

My name is Hayam Hamodat and I am a grade 11 student in late French immersion. I speak English, Arabic and French and I enjoy learning about different languages and cultures.

Since grade 7, I have competed in several concours d'art oratoire (French public speaking contest), in both languages. I like to be involved in extracurricular activities and in my community by volunteering. I am one of the leaders of the Peace and Justice Committee and I am the yearbook editor. Furthermore, I tutor and I am a member of my school's newspaper committee.

I would like to become a doctor with Doctors Without Borders, where I would use my knowledge of both languages while helping people in developing countries.
